NHS Trust Procurement Case Study

South Warwickshire Foundation Trust are a large NHS trust providing hospital services four hospitals in Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford and Shipston-on-Stour. The trust spends circa £100m on 3rd party goods and services per annum, and wanted a savings programme to be delivered from procurement to hit its efficiency targets for the financial year.

Fundamentally we completed a detailed diagnostic reviewing 3rd party spend to  identify opportunities for reducing spend across their range of clinical and non-clinical categories from medical devices through to back office goods and services and operational activities such as fleet management.

The second element we delivered was expert programme management and technical expertise to enhance the core procurement tools and processes. This included a systems review of the procurement and ordering platforms as well as recommending suitable future solutions to manage and monitor spend more accurately and ensure compliance with processes.

Consequently we were delighted to deliver a savings in excess of 4:1 ROI compared to costs, representing an annualised savings opportunity ROI >8:1.

Guaranteed a level of savings against the opportunities in each of the categories on a no win / no fee basis and in each case either achieved or exceeded delivering the savings promised.

We’d love to help you drive the outcomes you need.
